Call or text as soon as you think labor may be starting. If labor is starting and moving fast please call! If Labor is just starting and it is before 11 pm please call or text to let me know. If it is between 11 pm and 6 am and labor is starting but contractions are more than 10 minutes apart please wait to notify me until they are coming more frequently and lasting longer so I can be as rested as possible when I join you.
In the unlikely event that you are in labor and I do not respond to a text or phone call please call my emergency contact (Scott) at 303-489-6515.

If I haven’t heard from you at all it can take up to two hours for me to join you.
Once we are sure that labor is starting I am on notice and ready to come to you as soon as you are ready for me, taking into account the time it takes to drive. Typically I will meet you as active labor is ramping up and often around the time you head to your location of birth. We will stay in touch and decide this as labor progresses.
-
I always prefer to hear of any signs of labor as soon as you think that there are any. Even if it turns out to be Braxton Hicks I would prefer a false alarm to showing up late! If it is after 11 pm or before 6 am please wait until there is a steady pattern before calling.

I always recommend you have your own birth ball for early labor at home, raspberry leaf tea is a favorite - you can ice it in the summer. Birth affirmations, music playlist and bluetooth speaker, battery operated candles or twinkle lights are fun. If you are having birth photos taken it’s great to think about a cute and comfy bra and robe to wear during labor.
